THE SCANDINAVIAN WINS AGAIN

Barbara Fink rode her beautiful bay stallion The Scandinavian to collect high point wins in 2002.  This team of Morgan horse and rider won Overall Western and Open Class Western high point for the Oregon Morgan Horse Association and were presented with their awards at the annual Awards Banquet.

Not to be outdone by grandmother, Ashley Stevens won Open Saddle Seat riding the many times Western Pleasure winner, La Bomba.  These two were also named Reserve, Morgan Classic English Pleasure.

Barbara started with Morgans in 1949 when she was a child.  She was raised on a dairy farm in Oregon and had ridden her families part Morgan work horses before that.  The year before she married she bought a registered colt named Montezelle from Phil Morrison and it all grew from there.  The Morgans are definitely a family affair and Barbara and husband Bob have raised a lot of nice ones over the years under Dreamcatcher Morgans..

They have shown at a number of shows with three generations all out there riding and enjoying their special horses.  Daughter, Julie has been showing HH Moondancer and Roy-El’s Joiful.  Joiful, is also being shown by granddaughter Shelly Stevens, who enjoys riding Western Pleasure.

This family spends a lot of time out on they trails by their home in the far northeastern corner of California.  Barbara rides daily, weather permitting and is enjoying riding her young “Guy”, The Scandinavian, immensely.
